A word from the Managing Director
Simon Cave, Group Managing Director is a Yorkshire man who completed his Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He joined Vulcan as a Director in 1998, at which point, the company was already celebrating its 20th year, specialising in the supply and fitting of conveyor belting. With the support of dynamic and focused individuals, the company has developed business strengths which complement the experience, expertise and reputation for quality and value we have accumulated in conveyor belting.
He says, “The advice I was given was to get in there and implement my ideas. However, Vulcan was an industrial based business with a high level of site service activity. I quickly discovered that a good business results from long term planning and sticking fast to those plans. Throwing ideas onto the table is the easy part. At Vulcan we specialise in making them happen.”
In 2003 Vulcan launched the rubber recycling division - an important business element which helps address the ever growing environmental issues of industrial operators. In addition, our rubber products division has proved successful across a wide variety of applications including industrial, leisure and education.
“At Vulcan, we have a ‘yes’ attitude and open and resourceful staff. Feeling good about the future is an understatement! We’ve got something to shout about. I call it the Massey Fergusson factor – well built, strong transmission, what ever the field.”
“Skilful pilots gain their reputation from storms and tempests.”
